MORE ABOUT SOPHIE
Qualified Science Teacher (QTS - University of Sussex 2008)
17 years Science teaching experience in the classroom and one-to-one.
Sophie teaches face to face in a dedicated classroom space at her home in Brighton. She also offers remote online lessons using collaborative software that allows students to work alongside her in real time – though in-person sessions are her preferred approach.
She quickly identifies individual learning needs, focusing on closing knowledge gaps and addressing misconceptions. Using past exam papers, Sophie shows students how to approach questions strategically, so they understand exactly how to gain full marks.
Lesson content is flexible, allowing Sophie to adapt on the spot. Students can be formally retaught missed lessons or revisit topics they didn’t grasp in school.
Additional homework or past papers can be set on request, and Sophie is happy to answer questions by email at no extra cost.
She has experience working with students who face barriers to school attendance, including school refusal, ASC and PDA. If your child is currently out of school due to anxiety, Sophie may be able to support them with lessons at home during school hours.
